[ Rean moved closer to Dazai, and because of all the things running through his head he almost didn't notice the hand. His focus was shot for a little while.
But, hesitantly he'll grab it and allow Dazai to lead the way. ]
[ Once his hand is taken, he'll move his fingers in-between each of Rean's to lace their hands together. Hugging is still new, just like being genuinely affectionate, so this is an attempt to offer something more solid and warm.
He can fill the quiet in with facts about tofu if Rean doesn't feel up to talking as they make their way out of the clergy housing and to the Milk Bar.]
Maybe just some vegetable and chicken stew. It's best to have something hearty before we're go into trial to deliberate for hours...even though we had just seen something so terrible.
[ And then Rean seemed to leave it at that before he went to start on the meet.
After awhile...another silence came. Maybe it's filled once again by Dazai's nonsensical rambling or otherwise, but the fact remains that when the two were finally ready to put those things into place, Rean spoke once more: ]
Dazai, thank you. Even though it's difficult being around me right now, you've chosen to spend time with me.
[ Dazai didn't need to do this. He was well aware the other had previously waited until after trial had concluded to bother him about food, so finally after he had time to sift through his feelings regarding who died, he could feel grateful at least. Though, he felt bad for being a burden. ]
He does fill it with chatter, but this time about trying to move a washer and dryer with Ango.
Once Rean starts talking, he'll go quiet. Once again, this is a little different from what he's used to. Being thanked or someone even feeling bad for taking his time. ]
Don't worry about it. I do get something from spending time with you.
[ There's a longer pause from him, as he puts his hand on Rean's back. Just going to skip over the how he's providing that because he's not really sure how to put it in words. ]
I'm sure we will. We usually figure it out pretty quickly.
[ It just takes more to get the actual evidence or the person admitting it. ]

[ It actually took awhile for Rean to appreciate it, not because he's ungrateful but because he was still in lala land, sifting through his emotions.
