Rean had also considered something like that but threw it right out because. Protag who is full of hope, and optimism!!! ...Though it's weary hope and optimism, it is the same nonetheless.
So he didn't like considering there may not be a way. ]
...I understand. For now, I will do my best, and we will see how far that will get us with everyone's efforts. It's only unfortunate that everything really is so uncertain, but it is up to us to make the most of it.
Speaking of cautiousness, though, seeing as Ango and Erik had encountered those creatures around the city, we'll probably have to bear in mind when we're investigating to be on the look out for those. They really don't seem like something either of us wants to mess around with.
[ Except, Rean thought begrudgingly and with a mental sigh, If your name is Zangetsu.
But Iago wasn't Zangetsu so at least he didn't have to worry about him doing something impulsive like running into a dangerous creature alone just for the hell of it. ]
[it's fine, if iago runs into a creature, he's just gonna throw pizza at it anyway, surely that'll work out well........]
Considering Zangetsu's... display at the trial, the Lady and Rembrandt are going to be very wary. I'm not entirely sure what to make of those creatures, but it seems that messing with them is something we should avoid.
[Will we? Probably not because there are entirely too many crazy people here, but.]
We may be able to learn more about them, however. If new areas become available like last time, we'll want to see what we can learn from them. Perhaps it will shed some light on the connection those creatures have with the Lady and Rembrandt.
Yes. I'm sure we'll be able to determine more about what they are in time. I suspect they follow the same rules as Rembrandt and the Lady - that they won't kill us themselves - but I cannot be sure of that and would prefer not to find out the hard way that I'm wrong.
Which is exactly why we need to avoid a repeat of this trial. Throwing names out there and demanding information— Tch.
[His words pick up speed until he cuts himself off and glances away. Iago's usually fairly composed; he's prone to getting irritated and a bit more riled during the trials, but he's obviously really agitated with this.]
...Never mind. As long as we remain cautious, we'll figure something out.
[ Rean's not going to ignore an outburst like that without saying something, especially since he had his own feelings about it. ]
...About that, though.
I understand that wanting to get information from those who fit the profile of who could be a suspect might be necessary, but I think the method of collecting the information could've been better.
I know the intention was also at one point to know about other people's powers so we'd be more in the know...but it probably would've been better to see if a different route to collect that information in the first place could've been taken. If you're upset about it, I wouldn't be surprised, especially since unnecessary threats were being made, and you can say what's on your mind, I won't judge.
[ Actually, Rean hadn't wanted to reveal his ability at all. But, he was sure he hadn't a choice, considering his position, and complaining about it would've just made himself look suspicious. ]
He derailed us entirely and wasted our time - and to add insult to injury, he likely had that idea to prove it this whole time. Rideaux doesn't care about anyone else - only himself. With his power revealed, he wanted to expose everyone else's as well.
...I'd hope he wouldn't keep that idea to himself this whole time. Lives were at risk.
[ Like he hadn't considered that he would because Rean wouldn't think of that angle, but if that was true, he could never condone anyone doing that. ]
I don't blame you. He made sure to take advantage of an opportunity where it was hard for people to really protest. I'm hoping that if there's a next time things will be different.
I'm not necessarily opposed to sharing my own power, but to frame it like that and then to accuse me when there was absolutely nothing tying me to Lysithea's murder...
Rideaux went entirely too far with this trial. If he continues to behave in such a way...
[He trails off there, then shakes his head.]
We have more important things to worry about than Rideaux.
[ He fell silent for a moment, letting the other's words swirl around in his head for a little with a frown.
If only because he's aware that Rideaux had not been making a stellar impression with people since that trial, and so he's sure Iago wasn't the only one who thought that. ]
We do, but...I'm glad you shared that with me. While I don't really think a single person was normally something worry about over in our situation, these type of things could affect how we work together as a group.
That's precisely my concern. One person's opinion means nothing, but when they're loud about it and can sway the rest of the group into acting rashly... Well, it's something to take into consideration, at least.

Hopefully the others would get the same idea too.
[ There were way too many crazy people here yeah. More than what Rean had anticipated either, but he's 100% sure that's on purpose. ]
Yeah. Rembrandt seems to hold some hold over them in particular, so it'd be really to our benefit if we can learn more about them.

...That's fair. I'm not very interested in finding out about that the hard way, either.
It's better to be safer than sorry, especially when we're still in a situation full of so many unknowns.
[ At least, that's how he believed to be the best way to go about it. ]

Someone like that... truly irritates me.
