[ Today was quite a day, what with the motive that had been revealed. Though it was discussed during the meeting, among other things, Rean had no doubt that the effects remained.
He was unsettled. But more importantly, he was worried.
So here he was, heading over to catch Hyobu in the halls before he headed to his room or otherwise. ]

[ That's worrisome, and he could understand the reason why the other looked kind of like he had the worst day in his life. ]
...A few things. I thought it might be good to talk with you about how the meeting went, because you're the type of person to answer honestly and bluntly sometimes.
[ Pause. ]
But also, there was the aftermath of the motive, and I wanted to talk to you about that as well, if you'd let me.
There's not enough information. And they're keeping it that way. So all of this is pretty much by design. They'll try whittle us down until.... something. Who knows their goal. Whoever makes it to the end can find that out.

...I actually don't think they'd be able to overwhelm my loved ones so easily. Or act on their threat without serious consequences, as I have many allies who could act quickly. And to get to the point, I wanted to make sure you were taking it well.
It's one thing to say something, and another to actually believe it.

[ Then he'll pause, listening to what he had to say, and he'll nod. Even if what he said wasn't entirely true, there was convictjon behind his words. He believed in his family and friends. ]
I'll take your word for it - we both know how strong our captors are...and we know our friends' strength as well. Now I hope all the others might think the same about their own, but I can't say that for sure.
[ Rean looked kind of a little embarrassed there. ]

[ His response sounded almost wistful—a recall of a time that's certainly nostalgic. It only made him remember how much he so dearly missed home. ]
I don't know the others very well, but there was a blond man who had a strong reaction. There was definitely Iago, and the man with short dark hair and glasses...so many others, honestly.

But...personally I think it might be the people who hardly seemed to react at all that might be the worst, though.
[ He'll take it in stride at least...though at the question, he'll grimace and nod. ]
I could be wrong, and it might not seem fair...but that's just how I feel. Those who don't even show that they're bothered are the most likely to bottle it up and feel trapped, until they find themselves acting.
[ A quiet pause, but when he next speaks up there's some venom laced there. ]
One never knows with human nature. Some can discriminately hate, others can dispassionately kill. Everyone is capable of despicable things, I'm sure that's partly why we're here to be their playthings.
[ Another pause, and he lets out a more casual shrug. ] Oh, but I guess not everyone here is human? So that's even more factors.
[ He'll notice, and he can't help but wonder at Hyobu's experiences—at what was the reason that venom surfaced in his voice, in that tone. He wondered who was Hyobu Kyousuke, and what kind of life he had lead.
He wanted to know more.
Conversely, however, Rean looked just tired. ]
...Like I've said before—I'd hope no one would act.
But, with all of those variables, it'll be best to prepare if it happened. I guess it really is as you say—that it's really up in the air, considering the situation and the nature of the people we have here.
And as much as it frustrates me, it seems to have turned into a waiting game. I know it's also unreasonable to solve all of this before this week ends, but I'll give it my all to do what I can to keep the worst from happening, and to solve what I can. The last thing I want is to give our captors any sort of satisfaction.
[ He supposed he could do his patrols and rounds every night for as long as he could stay up. Another thing to add to his long itinerary. ]
[ A long arduous life of betrayal and seeing the worst in people I'm afraid Rean. But he's seen the good too, and that keeps him looking forward towards the future, even as the past looms behind him. ]
As I thought. If pries something out, it'll come out but for now.... we wait.
[ He crosses his arms and puts an hand to his chin thoughtfully. ] There is the possibility of things getting worse before they get better, as it goes from experience. So, be careful Rean. You wouldn't wanna tax yourself and then the worst arrives.
[ Conversely, Rean tried to see the best in people. But, he wasn't utterly and completely naive—he knew that people could have their hands forced to act in ways not natural to them.
Still, he looked surprised when the other told him to basically pace himself... ]
...That's true. At the very least, I know that I'm not the only one who will be working hard. And there's even someone I know here that will try his best, too.
[ Then he'll give Hyobu a little gentle smile, even though the weariness hasn't disappeared from around the edges of his eyes. ]
And I don't know you all that well enough yet, but I have a feeling you'll do things in your own way as well.
You seem to know me well enough though, to understand that. [ He grins. You really do remind him of someone. Sometimes. He hopes that idiot is doing well and being safe. ]
